Overview
The Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) Course is 23 instructional days designed to prepare aviation safety officers to assist Commanders and Commanding Officers in conducting mishap prevention programs. The course is taught at NAS Pensacola, and residents complete the entire course of study alongside future ASOs. The course covers mishap investigations, organizing and administering a squadron mishap prevention program, managing and leading safety culture, and coordinating aviation safety information.
