Masters in Public Health

MPH

As part of the residency, you will be required to earn an masters in public health.  Most residents do this through a program at the University of West Florida (UWF) that is attended by Navy and Army RAMs.  However, if a resident has already earned an MPH from another institution this is accepted as satisfying the MPH requirement.  For everybody else, the UWF MPH program is entirely online giving residents the flexibility to complete the coursework while still attending clinical rotations.  Most semesters, RAM residents take 3 courses.  The degree culminates in a thesis defense of a public health-related research topic.  There are two tracks at UWF: Generalist and Global Health.  They are mostly identical, except for 1-2 courses.

You can also find more information on the UWF Online Masters in Public Health website.
